Dixi Typeface
Dixi Typeface
For my master’s thesis I designed Dixi, a variable typeface created with the aim of improving readability while maintaining a clean and aesthetic form. The intention was to create a versatile sans-serif typeface for everyday digital use that is legible, adaptable, and pleasant for both dyslexic and non-dyslexic readers.
The project began with sketching and the study of reference typefaces.
I developed four versions of the typeface with Key features being enlarged x-height, generous spacing, simplified linear forms and clear differentiation between similar characters.
The final outcome combines functionality with aesthetic quality and demonstrates how variable typography can adapt to individual reading needs.
